The investment policy of Petrozavodsk City Administration is a part of overall city economic policy and it consists of a set of measures aimed at regulating and stimulating the investment process on the territory of the capital of the Republic of Karelia. The main purpose is stable social and economic development of Petrozavodsk.

The strategy of the investment policy of Petrozavodsk City Administration is targeted for creating and supporting favorable investment environment. For achieving sustainable increase of investments into the economy the city authorities are working in the following key areas:

• establishment of conditions for advanced city economy and increase of the number of taxpayers and enterprises;
• supervision over promising investment projects at all their stages, from development to implementation;
• task-oriented search for domestic and foreign investors ready to launch their business on the territory of the Republic of Karelia;
• use of earmarked program technique for planning investment financing.

The key points for maximal attraction of investments into the economy of the city are as follows: the process of enhancement of legislation for the investment policy, establishment of information space, attraction of capital investments from federal, republican and city targeted programs and other sources of financing, work with investment funds and companies aimed at attraction of and search for strategic economic partners and investors for the enterprises of the city.

Today the authorities of Petrozavodsk are purposefully looking for foreign and domestic investors. They continue to shape a favorable investment regime for enterprises implementing investment projects that meet the criteria and requirements established by legislation.
